AUTISM IN MANN
The Isle of Man Autistic Support Group was formed in 1992 by two parents of children with autism - June Murphy and Sue Feeney. The first course on Autism was held on 21st November 1992 at the Beach Hotel.
Some years later, the Charity became Autism in Mann (registered Charity number 607) and membership continued to grow. The Charity aims to provide help and support to parents and carers of people with autistic spectrum disorder and to promote a greater understanding of autism through information, lectures, seminars and meetings.
Autism in Mann works with Autism Initiatives to provide members with a quarterly Newsletter and the two Charities have worked together providing training seminars.
The present Chairman is Alan Desmond (tel 817219), the Treasurer is Mark Dickinson (tel 616977) and Secretary is Anita Ash (tel 625869). Membership is £10 per year and we hold monthly meetings and get-togethers.
New members are always welcome - please telephone the Autism in Mann mobile 480167 or Anita 625869.
